Preaching to the Perverted

I watched Preaching to the Perverted today.  It was originally released in 1997 and was very provocative back then, before the Internet was so mainstream and information was easy to find.

In the movie Peter is hired to infiltrate the seedy, psycho-sexual London S&M scene. He must gather evidence of -physical assaults- to prosecute and shut the down this sexual hell. Inevitably, Peter goes too deep and falls for the irresistible Mistress Tanya Cheex. Will he accomplish his mission or be lured into this modern day Pompeii?

The film is an interesting look at fetish and BDSM.  They show people who accept it and those who are against it. They also show some who are openly against it but have their own fantasies behind closed doors. Peter is a very devout Christian and is both repulsed by and drawn to different things in the fetish world. Some scenes that are hinted at may be hard for people to watch, because they talk about and/or hint at many things that they don’t outright show, such as scarification and cock and ball torture. They also have electricity play, flogging, whipping and a pony boy. If any of these things ar offensive to you either don’t watch the movie or fast forward through those short sections.

There are many things in this movie to bring about dialogue and controversy. There is a lot of affection and trust between people in fetish relationships and the movie also shows the consentuality in what is being done.

 It is an interesting movie for those who  have a fetish and for those curious about different fetishes as they touch on many different types.
